The event of Three Mile Island was one of the worst nuclear powerplant accidents ever to be recorded in the United States history. It started because the day before the accident some of the workers did not check the valves that controls the amount of water and steam that needs to be in the machines. The speacialist checked all the valves but did not realize that one of the valves was uncovered and it needed to be closed as soon as possible.
When the specialist at last needed help to solve the problem they called the government and the public was getting startled. Governors from nearby towns started to evacuate their citizens to a much safer enviroment.
It took weeks to fix the problem but it took ten years to clean up the radioactive waste. Most of the reporters video taped how much effort the clean up was. Because of this accident, the United States changed the way nuclear power is used.
